The Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablet is a member of the anti-hypertensive drug class and is mainly used to treat hypertension, or high blood pressure. A chronic or lifelong illness known as hypertension, or high blood pressure, occurs when the force of blood against the arterial wall increases excessively. Heart conditions including heart attacks and strokes may become more likely as a result.
Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic or water pill, are combined as the Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablet. An angiotensin receptor blocker called telmisartan aids in artery widening and relaxation. As a diuretic, hydrochlorothiazide stops the body from absorbing too much salt, which avoids fluid retention. When used together, they reduce blood pressure and the risk of heart attack, stroke, and oedema, or fluid retention.
Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablets can be taken either on an empty stomach or with food. Drink a glass of water and gulp it whole. Depending on your medical condition, your doctor will advise you on how frequently to take your medications. Dizziness, fatigue, nausea, diarrhoea, back pain, and cold/flu symptoms are possible side effects. The majority of these Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablet adverse effects go away with time and don’t need medical intervention. However, consult your physician if the adverse effects are severe.
Unless specifically instructed by your physician, avoid using potassium supplements or salt alternatives. Rarely, Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablet may result in a disorder that affects the skeletal muscles and eventually causes kidney failure. Contact a doctor right away if you experience inexplicable weakness, tenderness, dark urine, or muscle pain, particularly if you simultaneously have a fever or unexplained fatigue. If you are pregnant or want to become pregnant, stop taking Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablets immediately and notify your doctor.
In addition, if you are unable to urinate, you should not use the Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablet. Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablet should not be taken with any medication that contains the blood pressure medication aliskiren if you have diabetes. If you have a history of liver illness, kidney failure, glaucoma, high or low blood potassium or magnesium levels, asthma, diabetes, lupus (an autoimmune disease), or an allergy to penicillin or sulfa medications, let your doctor know before taking Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablet.

The Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablet increases the heart’s ability to pump blood throughout the body by relaxing and enlarging the arteries. By lowering excessive blood pressure, it lowers the risk of heart attacks and strokes in the future. In addition, it keeps the body from excreting too much water and electrolytes (such as potassium, sodium, etc.) through urine, which can cause hypertension.
Those who are allergic to Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablet, have low blood pressure (less than 90 mm Hg), have experienced a heart attack, have kidney or liver illness, are pregnant or want to become pregnant, or are nursing should not take this medication. In people with diabetes, it should be used cautiously. Aortic stenosis (heart valve issue), cardiogenic shock (sudden cessation of blood flow to the heart), and low blood pressure (hypotension) are some conditions in which it should not be used. Although Telvas H 40/12.5 Tablet can enter breast milk, it is unknown how it would affect the unborn child.
