The Foracort 400 Inhaler is a prescription medication developed by Cipla Ltd., formulated to manage and prevent symptoms associated with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Each inhaler delivers 120 metered doses (MDI) and contains two active ingredients:
Budesonide (400 mcg): A corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the airways, helping to prevent asthma attacks and control symptoms.
Formoterol Fumarate (6 mcg): A long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles around the airways, making it easier to breathe.
Foracort 400 Inhaler is indicated for the regular treatment of asthma and COPD in patients requiring a combination of inhaled corticosteroid and long-acting beta-agonist. It helps alleviate symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness.
Preparation: Shake the inhaler well before each use.
Inhalation:
Exhale fully to empty your lungs.
Place the mouthpiece in your mouth, sealing your lips around it.
Inhale deeply and slowly while pressing down on the inhaler to release the medication.
Hold your breath for about 10 seconds to allow the medication to settle in your lungs.
Post-Inhalation: Rinse your mouth with water after each use to minimize the risk of oral fungal infections.
Use the inhaler regularly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, even if you feel well.
Do not use Foracort 400 Inhaler to relieve sudden breathing problems; always have a rescue inhaler available for such situations.
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
